Cosmos bipinnatus
• Brightly coloured, long flowering and versatile plants
• Excellent for mixed borders and cut flowers
These seeds are sure to produce a stunning citrus mix of blooms that are great for cutting or as a centerpiece in your garden. Best grown in a full sun habitat, these flowers will attract bees and butterflies and are great for pollination. Often planted outdoors in the mid to late spring, you can expect blooms to form between the beginning of summer and early autumn.
Growing From Seed
Can be sown directly to the garden, however, for earlier flowers, sow seed indoors 4-6 weeks before final spring frost, 6mm (¼”) deep in fine, well drained seed compost.
Germination takes 7-14 days. Sow 2.5-5cm (1-2”) apart and thin to the strongest plants. If started indoors, harden off prior to transplanting after the final frost.
