Sow indoors 4-6 weeks before final frost, 13mm (1/2″) deep, 13mm (1/2″) apart in well drained soil. Germination in 7-14 days. Harden off and transplant to garden after final frost.
Sow outdoors when frosts are over and the soil has warmed up. Rich soil and abundant moisture will offer a good crop. Once the first shoots are harvested, plants often produce smaller shoots over the season.
Cut the shoots when 15cm (6″) long. Harvest regularly to encourage further shoots. 1g of broccoli provides the daily requirement of vitamin C.
