Cerinthe major
Excellent for borders and large containers. Elegant-looking plants with arching stem and endless numbers of bell-shaped, purple-blue flowers. 2-4 feet. Soak seeds overnight and start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Likes well-drained soil, full to partial sun. Keep plants moist but not soggy for the best flower display. Self-sows.
Sowing depth: For tiny seed cover very lightly, otherwise sow no deeper than 2-4 times the seed diameter. Direct seed to garden, late spring. Cool start flats, early spring.
