Provence is an outstanding early maturing pea perfect for container gardening. Medium-sized green pods produce 7-8 peas each. The excellent, smooth peas are a brilliant selection for any garden.
Plant directly in the garden as soon as ground can be worked and danger of frost has passed. Well drained fertile soil is best. Apply Garden Inoculant to increase yields.

When harvesting peas, do not jerk pods from vines since rough handling can cause plants to stop producing. It is best to snip clusters of pods from vines with scissors or pruners.
Preparation Ideas: Rinse shelled peas. Bring water in a pot to a boil. There should be enough water in the pot to cover the peas. Add peas, cover pot, and let the water return to a boil. Boil peas for approximately 3 minutes. Drain water, add salt and pepper to taste and butter if desired. Serve immediately.
