Gardener’s Notes: Choose a site with rich, well-drained soil where plants will get morning sun and afternoon shade. In mild climates, sow in very early spring or start in fall to overwinter and flower in spring. In cold winter areas, start seeds indoors 10 weeks before last spring frost and transplant. Thin small seedlings to commended spacing in the garden. Keep plants moist and well weeded. Hardy to USDA zone 5-9.
